Growing Gourmets (grades 3-5)
Thursday, May 20th: 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Theme: BBQ Basics
As we launch into BBQ season, learn the basics of how to bar-b-que meat, vegetables and even fruit. Learn the safety "rules" when grilling and the tools you need for a safe and delicious BBQ dish.
Menu includes:
Mexican Burger with Avacado Salsa; Grilled Vegetables and Fruit Medley; Grilled Sausage Pizza
Cost: $40 (first time student); $30 (returning student)

The "Growing Gourmet" will learn age appropriate culinary skills including kitchen safety, proper sanitation practices, basic knife skills, recipe adaptation, reading recipes and food labels, proper use of cooking tools, proper microwave usage, menu planning, and writing a shopping list, concluding with preparing an age appropriate meal. Creativity is encouraged! |
Bonnie Albright
Bonnie shares her hospitality leading children and women’s ministries at her church; she was a mentor and cook for Apples of Gold.
Bonnie is also a group leader at the local Weight Watchers. After achieving her own goal of losing 30 pounds using the program, she decided to help others achieve their goals and leads two meetings a week.
We are excited to have Bonnie teach our “Growing Gourmets” classes and know her strong culinary background combined with her love of children will enhance our Create-A-Chef culinary program!
